Executive Bio

Mr. George G. Goldfarb has been Chief Executive Officer and President of Value Fashion Segment at Ascena Retail Group Inc. since October 4, 2016. Mr. Goldfarb served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Maurices Incorporated at Ascena Retail Group Inc. from 2003 to October 4, 2016. His executive career spans more than 25 years and includes extensive experience in both retail and investment banking. He joined Ascena Retail Group in November, 2006 as a Senior Vice President of Operations. Mr. Goldfarb oversaw stores, physical operations and lease administration. He served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Ascena Retail Group. He joined Ascena Retail Group Inc., in 1985 and also worked in public accounting. He joined the maurices' senior leadership team in 2003 as Chief Financial Officer. He joined Maurices in 1985 and has held a variety of roles including Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining Maurices, he worked in public accounting at Kolquist, Seitz and Goldman. He has been a Director of ALLETE, Inc., since October 2012. He is a member of the boards of the Labovitz School of Business and Economics in Duluth, Area Partnership for Economic Expansion (APEX), US Bank and Duluth Legacy Endowment Fund. In 2010, he was recognized as Business Person of the year at the annual Joel Labovitz Entrepreneurial Success Awards in Duluth. Mr. Goldfarb is a University of Minnesota, Duluth Bachelor of Accounting graduate.
