Mr. Michael H. Carrel, also known as Mike, has been the Chief Executive Officer and President of AtriCure, Inc. since November 2012. Mr. Carrel has more than two decades of leadership experience Mr. Carrel served as the Chief Executive Officer and President of Vital Images Inc. from 2008 to 2011. He served as Chief Financial Officer of Vital Images Inc. from January 17, 2005 to January 2008 and its Vice President of Finance, Principal Accounting Officer, Treasurer and Secretary. Mr. Carrel served as Senior Vice President of Strategy and Business Development of Technology Solutions Company. He served as Interim Chief Financial Officer of Vital Images from January 2005 to May 2005. He served as a Chief Financial Officer of NextNet Wireless Inc. from October 1, 2003 to March 31, 2004. Mr. Carrel served as the Chief Executive Officer and President of ZAMBA LLC from July 1, 2004 to December 31, 2004 and also served as its Chief Financial Officer from October 1998 to December 31, 2004. He served as an Executive Vice President of ZAMBA Corporation from October 1998 to July 1, 2004 and also served as its Principal Accounting Officer. From May 1997 to October 1998, he served as the Director of Strategy and Business Development of ZAMBA Corporation. Prior to ZAMBA, Mr. Carrel held financial and consulting positions with PriceWaterhouseCoopers and Deloitte & Touche. Mr. Carrel worked extensively with leading physicians in numerous specialties to get new products to market. He has been a Non-Executive Director of Lombard Medical, Inc. since February 11, 2015. He has been a Director of AtriCure, Inc. since November 2012. He served as a Director of Vital Images Inc. from January 2008 to June 9, 2011. He served as a Director of ZAMBA Corporation. He is a Certified Public Accountant at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Pennsylvania State University and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, which he attended from August 1995 to May 1997.
