Sarah Cherng serves as Aura’s Chief AI Officer, leading the company’s Data Science and AI strategy to accelerate the development of intelligent systems that enhance online safety for families. She brings extensive experience in data science and artificial intelligence, with a background spanning healthcare, biotechnology, and consumer brands.
Prior to joining Aura, Sarah served as Vice President of Enterprise Data Science and Advanced Analytics at Estée Lauder Companies. She has also held senior roles at organizations including Flatiron Health, Merck, and Mount Sinai Health System, where she led high-impact teams building advanced AI solutions to drive innovation and improve outcomes.At Aura, Sarah oversees the application of AI across the company’s product ecosystem and internal operations, with a focus on anticipating threats, adapting in real time, and scaling protection for users of all ages. Her role underscores Aura’s commitment to responsible, strategic AI leadership in shaping the future of digital safety.
Cherng holds a PhD in Epidemiology and Computational Engineering and a MPH in Health Management and Policy from the University of Michigan School of Public Health. She completed postdoctoral research in Epidemiology at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and studied Management Science and Engineering at Stanford University.
