Executive Bio

Mr. Richard Scott Herren has been Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President at Autodesk, Inc. since November 1, 2014. Mr. Herren is responsible for Autodesk's global finance, information technology and procurement organizations. He leads all finance, accounting, treasury/tax and investor relations teams. He served as Group Vice President and General Manager of the Application Virtualization Group, responsible for building products to virtualize Windows applications and desktops, including Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop. He served as Senior Vice President of Finance at Citrix Systems, Inc., until 2014. He served as Group Vice President and General Manager of Virtualization Systems Group of Citrix Systems, Inc. Mr. Herren served as General Manager of Access Management Group of Citrix Systems, Inc. As the head of the Virtualization Systems Group, he was responsible for products built on the Citrix presentation services technical platform, including Citrix Presentation Server and Citrix Access Essentials, as well as Citrix Password Manager and upcoming products under development. Mr. Herren served as Vice President of EMEA Operations of Citrix Systems for two years, where he managed most of the back-office functions for the EMEA team, including customer care, facilities, HR, IT services, order services, procurement, product manufacturing, real estate and sales operations and programs. Prior to that, he served as Vice President of Finance of Citrix Systems for three years, responsible for mergers and acquisitions, inbound technology licensing and investor relations. He spent 16 years in senior strategy and financial positions at FedEx and IBM. He joined Citrix in March 2000, following three years with Federal Express in senior positions in divisional and corporate finance and 13 years at IBM in finance and operations roles. He has been an Independent Director of Proofpoint, Inc. since July 1, 2016. He serves as a Member of Advisory Board at SoftNAS, LLC. Mr. Herren holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and an MBA in Finance from Columbia University.
