Miguel Fernandez — Vice President and President of Avnet Electronics Marketing for The EMEA at AVNET INC

Mr. Miguel Fernandez has been the Vice President and President of Avnet Electronics Marketing Inc. for The EMEA at Avnet, Inc. since November 17, 2015 and January 2015 respectively. Mr. Fernandez is responsible for the entire components and embedded activities of the EM group in the region. Mr. Fernandez started his professional career in Spain in the early 80s by founding his own distribution company with the Sonepar Electronics Group (SEI). Mr. Fernandez served as the President of Avnet EMG GmbH (known as Silica) for 12 yeas and was responsible for the new semiconductor distributor and managed to establish Silica among the top distributors in Europe. He has been with Avnet since early 2000. He served as the Chief of Staff for Avnet EMEA since February 2001 and was responsible for IT, Business Processes and Quality. He served at Avnet EMEA as Group Information Officer. At SEI, he served as an Executive Vice President, a Member of the European Managing Board, Chief Information Officer and Chief of the Executive Staff. He oversaw SEI business in Iberia as well as the European-wide implementation of the then new IT system. He started to work in distribution in 1979 and joined Sonepar in 1983. He served as HF Design Engineer with a subsidiary of AEG and was a Lecturer at the University of Madrid. Mr. Fernandez holds a Postgraduate degree in Telecom Engineering from the Polytechnical University of Madrid and an MBA from the University of Navarra.
