William Read Crowell — Vice President and Group Financial Officer of Avnet Electronics Marketing at AVNET INC

Mr. William Read Crowell, also known as Bill, serves as Vice President at Avnet, Inc. and also has been its Group Financial Officer of Avnet Electronics Marketing since March 2008. Mr. Crowell served as Vice President of Avnet Technology Solutions, Inc. He has global responsibility for leading teams of finance professionals in various regions of the world that represent businesses in the Americas, Europe, Asia and Japan. He served as Senior Vice President of Electronics Marketing of Avnet, Inc. since March 2008. His background includes mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt offerings, tax planning and structure, risk management, insurance, strategic planning, treasury management and investor relations. Leading a team of more than 150 finance, credit and inventory management professionals in North America, Europe and Asia. He served as Group Finance Officer of Avnet Technology Solutions, Inc., a subsidiary of Avnet, Inc. and was responsible for the management and strategic planning of all financial activities. He served as Group Financial Officer for Avnet Applied Computing, which was merged with Avnet Computer Marketing in July 2003. He joined Avnet in May 2002 with 30-plus years of experience in financial leadership positions. He served as the Chief Financial Officer of Microtest, Inc. since February 2000 and also served as its Secretary and Treasurer, where he was responsible for all internal and external finance and accounting, IT and legal matters. Mr. Crowell served as Senior Vice President of Finance and Acquisitions of Rural/Metro Corporation from July 1997 to February 2000. He served in various executive positions with Rural/Metro from July 1992 to June 1997, including Vice President of Financial Services from January 1993 to June 1997. He also held senior level positions for several other public and privately-held companies following a career he began at Arthur Andersen LLP. He has been a Director of Premier Farnell plc since October 13, 2016. He was a recipient of the prestigious Avnet Chairman's Award. Mr. Crowell is a Certified Public Accountant. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Accounting from the University of Arizona, and successfully completed the Graduate Program at the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania, Graduate Division.
