Mr. Brian P. Kuelbs has been the Chief Investment Officer and Executive Vice President of Banc of California, Inc. since August 4, 2015. Mr. Kuelbs served as the Chief Investment Officer of Banc of California, N.A. until November 6, 2017 where he was responsible for the bank's enterprise-level capital allocation strategy and execution. He serves as Executive Chairman of The Palisades Group, LLC and has been its Director since December 2015. Prior to Banc of California, he served as Executive Managing Director, Chief Financial Officer and Head of Capital Markets at Home Point Financial Corp., in Ann Arbor, Mich. Mr. Kuelbs has more than 25 years of experience in capital management, enterprise risk modeling, institutional investor business development and transaction execution. He has launched start-up financial services companies, managed scale and complex organizations, restructured distressed institutions and divested portfolio companies. He served as the President and Chairman of EOS Preferred Corporation since May 15, 2011 and served as its Principal Executive Officer. Mr. Kuelbs served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at GMAC Bank and Ally Bank Corp. Mr. Kuelbs served as Chief of Staff for GMAC Residential Holding Corp. His responsibilities included strategic planning and communications for holding company business units (GMAC Home Services, GMAC Mortgage, GMAC Bank). He was Founder, Chief Executive Officer and President of GMAC Mortgage asset management Inc. and CORE Cap, Inc. Prior to that, Mr. Kuelbs served as Vice President of Capital Markets and Manager of the residential mortgage origination trading desk for GMAC Mortgage Corporation. He served as Chief Investment Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Aurora Bank FSB, Managing Director of Capital Markets at Countrywide Financial Corporation. He is a Member of the Milken Institute of Los Angeles and contributes real estate finance and financial markets research to Zelman & Associates, an equity research boutique. Mr. Kuelbs holds a Bachelor's Degree In Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin - Madison, with majors in Mathematics, Quantitative Analysis and Finance. He also holds a Master's Degree In Business Administration, with a concentration in Finance and received honors from the University of Notre Dame Graduate School of Business.
