Executive Bio

Mr. Daniel Moore has been the Chief Risk Officer of The Bank of Nova Scotia since April 3, 2017 and served as its Chief Market Risk Officer and Executive Vice-President of Global Risk Management from November 2016 to April 3, 2017. Mr. Moore was responsible for developing risk management strategies that align with the Bank's risk tolerance and business objectives. He sits on the Bank's senior risk policy, asset liability committee, market risk and credit committees. Prior to this role, he ran the Global Banking and Markets business in Asia-Pacific. He joined Scotiabank in 1997 in Risk Management and his previous roles include Head of the Cross Markets Group, Head of Structured Products and senior roles in Energy, Credit and Equity Derivatives. Mr. Moore holds a D. Phil. in Theoretical Physics from Oxford University and a B.Sc. from Queen's University.
