Mr. David Potter serves as Managing Director of Global Banking and Markets and Head of Global Investment Banking, Energy, Global Banking and Markets at The Bank of Nova Scotia. Mr. Potter is responsible for all of Scotiabank's investment banking activities in the Oil & Gas sector globally. He serves as the Managing Director and Deputy Head of Mergers & Acquisitions at Scotia Capital Inc. He contributes to the delivery and execution of a full range of financial advisory services, with a primary focus on the origination of M&A mandates. Over a career of more than 20 years with Scotiabank, he has held a number of investment banking and M&A roles in both Calgary and Toronto. Mr. Potter's Canadian and international transaction experience in the Oil & Gas sector includes leading mergers, acquisitions and divestitures of public and private companies and assets, assessment of strategic alternatives and shareholder value maximization, takeover defense strategies and planning, valuations, fairness opinions as well as debt and equity financing in the public and private capital markets. Mr. Potter holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (Economics) from Laval University and a Masters degree in Business Administration from London Business School.
