Laurie Stang — Executive Vice President of Canadian Branch Banking at Bank of Nova Scotia

Mr. Laurie Stang has been Executive Vice President of Canadian Branch Banking at The Bank of Nova Scotia since May 03, 2017. Mr. Stang is responsible for defining and implementing the strategic direction, goals and execution of key initiatives for Retail Banking in Canada in line with corporate strategies. Mr. Stang served as Senior Vice President of The Bank of Nova Scotia, where he was responsible for providing leadership and guidance on customer-focused strategy for the Prairie Region retail bank. Since joining Scotiabank in 1985, Mr. Stang has held progressively more senior customer facing roles in the Bank including Senior Vice President of Ontario Region, Wealth Management, Commercial, Operations and Executive Office. He sits on the Board of the Calgary Flames Foundation for Life. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Canadian Bankers and a Professional Designate of the Institute of Corporate Directors. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Saskatchewan. Mr. Stang has completed the Ivey Executive Program.
