Executive Bio
Mr. Arne Hassel has been Chief Investment Officer at Barclays PLC since September 2015. Mr. Hassel serves as Chief Investment Officer of Barclays Bank PLC, Wealth and Investment Management Division. Previously, he served as the Head of Investments at Coutts & Co. since February 2014 and Coutts & Co Ltd since April 2014. Mr. Hassel was responsible for the international investment teams in Edinburgh, Hong Kong, London, Mumbai, Singapore and Zurich. He has several years of experience, based in London. He joined Coutts & Co. from Universities Superannuation Scheme Limited in London, where he was Co-Head of Multi-Asset Allocation and was responsible for tactical asset allocation and advised the trustees on strategic asset allocation of the pension schemes, which has assets around ???40 billion. Prior to this, Mr. Hassel served as the head of global tactical asset allocation and multi-strategy at Millennium Global Investments. He also had spells at Goldman Sachs Asset Management as head of global currency management and as head of the hedge fund strategies group in Europe and Asia.
