Mr. Jean-Fran??ois Astier has been Head of Global Capital Markets Business at Barclays PLC since May 2017. Mr. Astier served as Head of Global Leveraged Finance at Barclays PLC since November 2012 until May 2017 and served as its Managing Director since January 2010. Mr. Astier was Head of Leveraged Finance - Americas at Barclays Capital since January 2010. He was a Co-Founder of Continuum Group Limited and served as its Managing Director. He served as Head of Leveraged Finance for Europe of Lehman Brothers until February 2000. After five years in Leveraged Finance at Lehman Brothers in New York, he was transferred to London where he built one of the leading high yield efforts in Europe. He focused mainly on the telecommunications sector and completed financings for several emerging operators including VersaTel, Tele1, Esprit, Cybernet, Colt, Jazztel, GTS Europe and Barak. He served as Investment Banking Professional at Lehman Brothers Holdings, Inc. He served at Wall Street for seven years. Mr. Astier served as Member of the Board of Directors of Speedera Networks, Inc. He received master's degree from INSEAD, Fontainebleau (France).
