Mr. Paul H. Compton has been the Group Chief Operating Officer of Barclays Bank PLC since May 2016. Mr. Compton is responsible for leading the global Operations & Technology functions, driving the implementation of the structural reform and cost transformation programmes and for the delivery of other major bank-wide projects. Mr. Compton has been Chief Operating Officer of Barclays PLC since May 2016. Prior to joining Barclays, Mr. Compton served as the Chief Administrative Officer of JPMorgan Chase & Co., from April 28, 2013 to February 2016. Before being appointed in this role in 2013, Mr. Compton served as Co-Chief Administrative Officer for the Corporate & Investment Bank, Deputy Head of Operations for JPMorgan Chase and Head of the JPMorgan Chase Global Service Centre in India. Mr. Compton served as the Chief Administrative Officer of Investment banking at JPMorgan Chase & Co. from September 2010 to April 28, 2013. He served as a Vice President of The Bear Stearns Companies, Inc. since May 31, 2008. He was accountable for overseeing global technology, operations, real estate and general services. Mr. Compton started his career at JPMorgan in 1997 and first led the overhaul of the wholesale bank's credit risk infrastructure, before taking on the role as Chief Financial Officer for the Investment Bank. Previous to JP Morgan, Mr. Compton spent 10 years as Principal at Ernst & Young in the Brisbane and New York offices. He served as an Equity Analyst at Collins Stewart plc, Research Division. Mr. Compton served as the Head of Smaller Companies of Collins Stewart Hawkpoint Limited (Collins Stewart plc) since 2002. He has 20 years experience in the equity markets. He has worked for Morgan Grenfell, UBS, Credit Lyonnais and Merrill Lynch as an engineering analyst. He served as an Equity Analyst of Collins Stewart LLC, Research Division and BofA Merrill Lynch, Research Division. Mr. Compton served as an Analyst of Oddo Securities, Research Division (alternate name Oddo & Cie, Research Division). He has been a Director of The Bear Stearns Companies, Inc., since May 31, 2008. He served as Director of the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC) American Australian Association from April 2013 to February 17, 2016 and the American Red Cross of Greater New York. Mr. Compton has degrees in Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Economics from the University of Queensland, Australia. He received post-graduate degrees from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and the Securities Institute of Australia.
