Mr. Matthew D. Gili, also known as Matt was appointed Senior Vice President, Operations Projects of Barrick Gold Corporation in November 2017 ('Barrick'). Prior to joining Barrick, he served in a variety of management roles with Rio Tinto over 15 years, including as Chief Operating Officer of Barrick's Mongolian operations, and Vice President of Resource Strategy for the Oyu Tolgoi project. His other roles included Managing Director of Palabora Mining Company, South Africa, and Mine Manager, Greens Creek, Alaska. Mr. Gili also served as Chairman of the Board of Governors for the Palabora Foundation, an independent educational trust supporting the educational and health needs of the Phalaborwa community. Mr. Gili earned his Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering at the University of Idaho, and also holds an Idaho professional engineer certification.
