Mr. Christopher L. Henson, also known as Chris, has been the Chief Operating Officer of BB&T Corporation and Branch Banking & Trust Company since January 01, 2009 and has been its President since December 20, 2016. Mr. Henson is responsible for Risk Management and Administrative Services; Operations; Deposit Services; Marketing; Electronic Delivery; and all fee-based financial services subsidiaries of BB & T Corp. He has been President of Branch Banking & Trust Company at BB&T Corporation since December 27, 2016. Mr. Henson served as a Senior Executive Vice President at BB&T Corporation. He served as the Chief Financial Officer of BB &T Corporation from July 01, 2005 to December 2008. Mr. Henson served as an Assistant Chief Financial Officer of BB&T Corporation from June 2004 to July 1, 2005 and served as its Senior Executive Vice President until December 2008. He joined BB & T in 1985. Previously, he served as the President of BB&T's community bank region based in Virginia's Hampton Roads area and City Executive in Greensboro, N.C. Mr. Henson began his career in Wilson, N.C., where he served as a Business Services Officer, Business Services Manager and City Executive. He serves as a Board Member of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, Atlanta's Buckhead Coalition Inc., Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce, Hampton Roads YMCA of South Hampton Roads Metropolitan Board, United Way of South Hampton Roads, Old Dominion University (Va.) Intercollegiate Foundation and Virginia Marine Science Museum. Mr. Henson is a Member of the High Point University Board of Trustees and Chairman of the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Ten Year Plan to End Chronic Homelessness. Mr. Henson holds Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from High Point University. He is a Graduate of the Young Executives Institute at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a 2007 graduate of the Duke University Advanced Management Program.
