Mr. J. Cantey Alexander has been Triad Regional President of BB & T Corp. since 2003. Mr. Alexander has more than 25 years of banking experience. He served as President of BB&T Corp.'s Piedmont Region since July 30, 2003. He served as Winston-Salem City Executive Officer. He served as a Capital Campaign Division Manager of Reynolds Auditorium. He joined BB&T in February 1987 (through Southern National Bank). During his career at BB&T, he has served as Branch Manager in Raleigh and Greensboro, N.C. He served as President of Big Brothers, Big Sisters, Inc. He was also a Business Services Officer in Greensboro; and served as City Executive in Reidsville, Rocky Mount and Winston-Salem, N.C. He is a board member of The Greensboro Partnership, Greensboro Merchants Association, Downtown Winston-Salem Partnership, Inc., Big Brothers, Big Sisters, Inc., Winston-Salem State University Foundation, Reynolda House Museum of American Art, Hospice Foundation. He serves as Business Advisory Board Member of UNC-G and Administrative Board member of Centenary United Methodist Church. Mr. Alexander is a Business Advisory Council Board Member (Walker College of Business) of Appalachian State University. He was a Capital Campaign Chairman and Executive Committee Member of The Arts Council of Winston-Salem & Forsyth County since 2004. He was a board member of Wake Forest University - Babcock Graduate School Family Business Center. He served as a Director of Piedmont Triad Partnership. He was a Board member and 2002 Walk Chairman for Forsyth County of Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). He was a Cabinet Campaign Committee Member of United Way of Winston-Salem/Forsyth County. He was a board member of YMCA of Winston-Salem/Forsyth County, Housing Partnership of Winston-Salem/Forsyth County, Junior Achievement of Winston-Salem. Mr. Alexander holds a BSBA Degree from Appalachian State University and is a Graduate from Stonier Graduate School of Banking.
