Allan C. Golston — President of U.S. Program at Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation

Mr. Allan C. Golston has been President of U.S. Program at Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation since 2006. Mr. Golston leads the foundation's efforts to reduce inequities and increase access to opportunities for low-income and disadvantaged Americans. Mr. Golston has been with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation since 2000. He oversees the foundation's Education, U.S. Libraries and Pacific Northwest grant programs, as well as U.S. Program Advocacy and Special Initiatives. He joined the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in 1999, most recently served as its Chief Financial and Administrative Officer. His professional background is in finance and healthcare. He has been an Independent Director of Harley-Davidson, Inc. since February 23, 2017. Mr. Golston serves as a Member of the Board of Directors at Charter Fund, Inc. He serves as Director for Malt O'Meal, a privately held breakfast cereal corporation. He served as Director of Finance for Swedish Health Services. He is an active community volunteer and serves on the boards of a number of regional and national organizations. He has been an Independent Director of Stryker Corporation since January 1, 2011 and its Lead Independent Director since September 7, 2016. He is a Certified Public Accountant. Mr. Golston holds an M.B.A. from Seattle University and a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Colorado.
