Executive Bio

Mr. Sam Dryden served as the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman at Stoneville Pedigreed Seed Company, Inc. He is a Director of Agricultural Development at Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. He served as Managing Director of Wolfensohn & Company, L.L.C. since January 1, 2007. He served as an Advisor to the World Bank regarding rural development strategy. Mr. Dryden served the Chief Executive Officer - Corporate of Emergent Genetics India Private Ltd., a subsidiary of Emergent Genetics, Inc., since April 2004. He has over twenty-five years in the agriculture and biotechnology field. He founded and held executive positions with Big Stone Inc. He began his career as an analyst with the U.S. Department of Commerce's Bureau of Economic Analysis. He serves as a Director of BaroFold, Inc. Mr. Dryden served as a Director of Direct Markets Holdings Corp. (AKA Rodman & Renshaw Capital Group, Inc.) since July 22, 2007. He serves as a Member of Advisory Board of Advanta Limited. For eight years, he served in various capacities with the Consultative Group for International Agricultural Research and served as a Member of its Executive Council. He serves as a Member of the Council on Foreign Relations of World Bank, where he served on its Study Group analyzing trade issues between the US and Europe relating to genetically modified foods. Mr. Dryden was previously on the U.S. board of the Global Crop Diversity Trust. He also served on the National Academies Roundtable on Science and Technology for Global Sustainability. Previously, he served on the World Bank's steering committee for the International Assessment on Agricultural Science and Technology. He was on the board of the South/North Development Initiative. He was also a member of the Design Advisory Committee of the African Agricultural Technology Foundation. Mr. Dryden has worked in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East. Mr. Dryden received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Emory University in 1973.
