Ms. Alisha A. Alaimo has been Senior Vice President of US Therapeutic Operations at Biogen Inc. since July 24, 2017 and leads sales and marketing, market access, patient services and commercial operations and strategy. She works to drive the uptake of Biogen's industry-leading portfolio of multiple sclerosis (MS) therapies and increase access for SPINRAZA'?, the first and only approved treatment for spinal muscular atrophy. She works to prepare the US market for potential approvals of new therapies from across its late-stage neuroscience pipeline. She has a remarkable track record of success within highly competitive therapeutic areas. Her experience developing new markets for breakthrough therapies, commitment to patients and customer focus and experience driving complex and dynamic organizations make her an ideal leader to help move Biogen forward. Over a 17-year career at Novartis, she took on positions of increasing responsibility in the US, United Kingdom and Switzerland. Ms. Alaimo served as Vice President and Head of Cardiovascular Business Unit/Head of the US General Medicines - The Neuroscience Business Unit at Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation. Ms. Alaimo is responsible for building the unit and is charged with the development of an overall neuroscience strategy while driving revenue growth and profitability for the business. Over the 14 years at Novartis, she has held roles of increasing responsibility in the UK, Basel and the US. She was Franchise Head of Integrated Hospital Care (IHC) in the UK, where she was responsible for all sales, marketing, market access and medical activities for IHC. In the UK and throughout her career, she has played an active role in coaching and developing her team and driving a culture change. She believes the key to strong business performance is investing in people - empowering and helping them develop to be the best they can be. She joined Novartis as a Sales Training Manager, eventually becoming an Area Sales Manager in the US. She then moved to Basel where she held several roles, first in commercial operations working in advertising and branding, then as Global Brand Manager for Galvus?? before moving to Region Europe as Brand Director for Galvus. She started her career at Johnson & Johnson in various field roles. Ms. Alaimo holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Emory University in Atlanta and has taken Post-Graduate Coursework in Clinical Pharmacology, Drug Development and Regulation at Tufts University.
