Mr. M. Robert Rose has been the Chief Credit Officer of Brookline Bancorp, Inc. since August 2009. Mr. Rose serves as Chief Credit Officer of Brookline Bank. He served as the Chief Credit Risk Management Officer of Santander Holdings USA, Inc. (Formerly Sovereign BanCorp. Inc.) since April 30, 2004 and its Executive Vice President since May 2004. He served as Executive Vice President and Regulation Officer of Sovereign Bank of Santander Holdings USA, Inc. since May 2004. He was the Chief Risk Officer of Sovereign Bank since 2004 and primarily held senior credit and risk management positions at Sovereign Bank, Bank Boston/Fleet Bank and BayBanks, Inc. from 1985 onward. He served as Chair of Enterprise Risk Management Council at The Risk Management Association. He joined Sovereign BanCorp. as Chief Credit Policy Officer since May 2000. Prior to Sovereign, he served in a variety of positions in credit and credit related disciplines for several Boston banks during his 28-year career. He served as Vice Chairman and a Director of The Risk Management Association. Mr. Rose earned his master's in business administration and bachelor's degrees from Babson College and obtained a certification in risk management from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
