Johnny Cope — President, Commercial at Builders FirstSource
Executive Bio
Johnny Cope is the president of commercial for Builders FirstSource. He is responsible for all sales and national account customer initiatives, marketing, customer segment strategy, and innovation. In this role, he drives sales across all lines of business and strengthens partnerships to position Builders FirstSource as the supplier of choice, accelerating profitable growth.
Mr. Cope brings nearly three decades of industry experience. He comes to Builders First Source in June 2024 from James Hardie where he joined in February 2019 as the Senior Vice President of North American Sales.
Prior to his tenure at James Hardie, Mr. Cope spent a decade at Electrolux Major Appliances North America, where he was vice president of the Builder and Home Depot businesses. His career also includes multiple builder/contract roles in the appliance division of the General Electric Company, where he was responsible for the Southwest contract region during his last six years.
Mr. Cope holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Texas Tech University.
