I've had a really great experience with the company, but I've seen the frustrations other people have and I feel like we can improve a lot on our employee retention through small changes and through giving back more to employees to make the pros outweigh the cons in the way that other startups do.
Briefly describe your overall experience at your company
I've had a great experience working for BBE. I think that the company is great and I enjoy the work that I do. I think that there's room for improvement and that will hopefully come as we grow and don't have leadership doing more than they are equipped for and can help employees with.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
I think leadership is approachable and cares about the opinions of others. I like that leadership isn't intimidating and everyone isn't afraid to raise concern when it's justified.
What did you like most about the interview process?
Management was really open and honest about the position and I was able to ask questions in a way that I felt confident after leaving and good about accepting the position.
What makes you most happy at work?
Spending my workday next to people I really enjoy and being given the freedom to choose how I accomplish tasks and structure my day in a way that works for my brain.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
I like how approachable they are. I think at many companies it can be easy to find leadership intimidating or hard to work with, but I think BBE has a great group of people who work hard and who you can feel comfortable talking to about anything.
What makes you most happy at work?
I love not being micromanaged in everything that I do. Being able to have the freedom to choose how I do my work and organize my day helps so much with my disabilities and feeling like I am successful at my job and meeting the expectations that I set for myself.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
I am happy with my compensation, but I do think that we fall short on pay and employee benefits for others. The company spends a lot of time talking about success and financials, but we can't afford to pay some departments fairly or have perks like other startups do that help retain employees
What are some of the best things about your team?
I love my team and I think we have a great dynamic of people who are different but are still able to get along and work well together. I feel really supported by my manager and my teammates and that I always have someone to go to no matter the issue I am having.
What are some of the best things about your team?
My team is great and I love how well we work together and care about each other. I think company-wide we don't have anyone who brings teams or departments down. I think we have a great group of people and I'm happy to come into work and spend time with and work with them.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
I think it's nice that we have healthcare benefits when a lot of my friends who work for startups don't have them. I think BBE does a good job in trying to do what they can to give back to their employees through insurance and PTO. I hope we will be getting a 401k plan soon!
