  • I would shake up the leadership. With many people, they've been around from the beginning and so have been rewarded with high level positions. This would be fine if they had any skills related to those positions. There's VERY little accountability when it comes to performance reviews and most goals aren't set until mid to late summer for review in December. The external work provided to the customer is great. The internal can use a lot of help. There's really no upward mobility and the decisions being made are SLOW to happen. I would either make fewer promises or keep the ones you make.

  • I think people really like Eric. Eric cares a lot about the company, it's something he built with his own hands. But Eric has a very internal process - he gets up in front of the company here and there, but those meetings are about updates or generalizations. You don't REALLY see him on the daily basis very often and he trusts his VPs to do their jobs. The only problem with that is that his VPs aren't always great, so it seems like he has a rose-colored glasses view of the company culture and doesn't have an accurate view of what people are feeling on the ground floor.

  • Depends. You can easily give your life entirely to Campus Labs, but you can also manage to just work and walk at 5pm. While some times of the year are busier than others, it's really up to you how much time you want to give. Because you can build your own schedule, many people take extra advantage and show up late in the morning, or leave very early in the afternoon.

  • Yes. While there are some that are designed to be remote like sales positions, most upper leadership and some other individuals have been able to move and work remotely from wherever they want. It's not usually best for the company, but they allow it.

  • Unlimited and unrestricted. You have to get your days off approved by your manager, but as long as you're not performing poorly, you generally can take a substantial amount of vacation.

  • There are two major drivers for promotions. The first is if someone is threatening to leave and they want to keep them around. They may invent a new position to offer as a "promotion" that is clearly only available to that individual. The other way is to reinforce their internal social groups. Promotions are very political and rare.
