Executive Bio

Ms. Julia M. Brown has been the Chief Procurement Officer at Carnival Corporation and Carnival plc since March 25, 2015. Ms. Brown served as the Chief Procurement Officer on the Global Management Team at Mondelez International, which split from Kraft Foods in 2012. She served as the Chief Procurement Officer and Senior Vice President of Global Procurement at Kraft Foods Inc. She was responsible for the procurement of all goods and services for Kraft Foods worldwide. She began her career in procurement with Procter & Gamble in Toronto, Canada. She later transitioned to P&G's global headquarters in Cincinnati in 1995, where she continued to develop her global procurement career. In 2001, she left P&G and joined Diageo, a premium spirits and wine company. At Diageo, she served as the Director of Integration. She was responsible for co-leading the procurement integration of the Seagram's company into Diageo. In January 2004, she left Diageo to assume a combined position of two newly created positions at Gillette in Boston. As a Global Director, she was accountable for creating and driving global strategy in Gillette's global direct materials spend across all business units. In this capacity, she also created an organization to integrate and manage a newly acquired oral care business. She also served as the Director of the Strategic Sourcing Center of Excellence for Gillette. She left Gillette in late 2005 to work with the Clorox Company as Leader of Procurement. She served as the Chief Procurement Officer and Vice President of Corporate Procurement and Contract Manufacturing for the Clorox Company. She led a global strategic sourcing transformation at Clorox over her three years there and was a Member of The Boards of the Clorox Foundation and Junior Achievement - Greater Bay Area. She serves on the Board for The Executive Leadership Foundation and also serves as a Trustee for the African American Experience Fund, which is part of The National Park Service. She has been a Director at Institute For Supply Management, Inc. since February 2009. She also serves as a Board Member for the Primo Center in Chicago. Ms. Brown holds an honors Bachelor's of Commerce degree from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
