View ArticleEffective Thursday, May 2, 2019 Casa Pacifica will begin using the "New Experience" view of libraries and folders in Sharepoint. This new optionimproves the look and feel of Sharepoint folders when viewing them in a web browser. This includes the Casa Pacifica Shared Drive.
With the "New Experience" view Microsoft has greatly improved the speed and functionality of what you can do with files and folders in a web browser. This includes the ability to move or copy an entire folder. There is no change to the way the Sharepoint folders work when using Windows File Explorer.
The first time you navigate to a folder that is using the new view, you are given the option to see a quick tutorial of the changes. Please step thru the brief tutorial to get acquainted with the new look:

When you land on a folder that uses the New Experience you will see differences in the appearance of the Quick Launch links and Folder list. There are new fonts, a view menu, and the option to revert back to the old view if you really do not like the new one:
You can check an item to show a new menu bar along the top or use the new triple dot button to bring up a more extensive menu of options.
In both cases, the "Move to" and "Copy to" options make it much easier to move files or an entire folder.

View ArticleCasa Pacifica uses Microsoft Office 365 to send encrypted email. As with all encrypted email services, the recipient must use a smartphone app or a web portal to retrieve and read the encrypted email and any attachments. In our case the web portal is hosted by Microsoft.
Using an iPhone to Read the Encrypted Email
Microsoft provides a smartphone app named "Office 365 Message Encryption Viewer" (also known as "OME Viewer") to allow the reading of encrypted emails sent from Casa Pacifica.
The first step in viewing an encrypted email is to install the Office 365 Message Encryption Viewer app on your iPhone. Click here while viewing this article on your iPhone to download and install the app from the Apple App Store.
After the app is installed, open the email you received that informs you of the encrypted message. With the email open, tap and hold on the "message.html" attachment.
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn569287.aspx
Select "Copy to OME Viewer":
In OME Viewer, tap on "Use a one-time passcode":
Microsoft will send a passcode to the email address that the encrypted message was sent to. Enter the code from the email and tap "Continue":
The encrypted email will open in the "OME Viewer".
Tip: If you will be retrieving additional encrypted emails from Casa Pacifica on your iPhone, you can avoid having to enter passcodes for each message by making sure "Stay signed in with passcode" is turned on under the OME Viewer Settings:
Retrieve the Encrypted Email using the Microsoft Web Portal
Casa Pacifica's secure email web portal is hosted by Microsoft. When an encrypted email is sent from Casa Pacifica, the recipient receives a normal, unencrypted email and follows these steps to retrieve the encrypted message:
The first step is to open the unencrypted email that includes instructions on how to retrieve the encrypted message:
After clicking on and opening the attachedmessage.html file, the recipient will see the screen below in their web browser.
There are two options for accessing the encrypted email: Sign in with a Microsoft account or ask for a one-time passcode. In most cases it is simplerto request a one-time passcode:
An email with the one-time passcode will be sent to the same email address that the encrypted email was sent to:
The recipient will then be prompted to enter the passcode in their web browser:
Signing In:
Alternatively, the recipient may click on Sign In.The Microsoft sign in page will appear. The recipient must use a Microsoft account connected to the email address the encrypted message was sent to. If they do not have an account, they will need to create one by clicking on Sign up now.
If the recipient is already logged into Microsoft (ie. Office 365, Hotmail, etc...) with a different Microsoft account, they will first have to log off of that account.
After entering the one-time passcode or logging in, the encrypted message will be shown in the web browser:
After reviewing the message, the recipient can decide to forward the message or reply to it. If the message is forwarded or a reply is sent the new message will also be encrypted.
When finished, the recipient should Sign Out

Background
Casa Pacifica subscribes to a text messaging service that allows us to send text messages in bulk. This provides us with a powerful tool for quickly communicating with all of our staff.
Messages from this service are primarily intended for use in the event of an emergency but can also be used to send non-emergency messages to specific groups. These messages would be used to communicate with staff when other means of communication are impractical or simply not available. For example, our Crisis teams will be able to use this service to quickly broadcast a message to all of its members. This service could also be used as an alternative to sending an brief email message to all Casa Pacifica staff. Due to the public nature of this service, no staff or client confidential information will ever be sent in a text message from this service.
Like all standard text messages, messages from this service are sent to cell phones (in SMS format). As such, these messages may incur a service charge. As with most current cellular service agreements, Casa Pacifica-issued cell phones have unlimited texting. If you have a Casa Pacifica supplied cell phone please sign up from that phone today.
If you want to sign up with your personal cell phone, and do not have unlimited texting, please be aware service charges may be incurred when a message is received on your phone. By signing up, you are agreeing to accept whatever service charges, if any, are associated with text messages sent from Casa Pacifica.
