Mr. John R. Howe has been the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of The Cato Corporation since September 1, 2008. Mr. Howe served as Vice President and Assistant Controller of Cato Corp. since August 1999 to 2007. He also served as Senior Vice President and Controller of Cato Corp. since June 29, 2007 to September 2008 and also served as its Principal Accounting Officer. He is responsible for corporate finance, financial reporting and SEC compliance at Cato. He joined Cato Corp. in July 1986 and served several positions within Cato Corp., in Financial Planning, Tax and Finance. From 1997 to 1999, he served as Assistant Vice President of Budgets and Planning, Director of Budgets and Planning from 1995 to 1997 and Assistant Tax Manager from 1995 to 1997 at Cato Corp. He is a Certified Public Accountant from AICPA. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economic/Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
