Mr. Michael A. Reed has been an Executive Vice President of Central Garden & Pet Company since June 2000 and served as its President of Garden Products since October 2007 until May 2012 and again from January 2014 to September 2016. Mr. Reed joined Central Garden & Pet Co. in 2000 and served as President of Pet Products Division from 2003 to 2004. Since 2004, he has provided executive oversight to the Life Sciences Business Unit and its investment in Tech Pac LLC. Prior to joining Central, he served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of PM AG Products Inc., a subsidiary of Tate & Lyle PLC. From 1983 to 1985, he served as Vice President and Regional General Manager of Pacific Molasses Co. and also served as Division Vice President of Beatrice Agri-Products. Prior to joining Beatrice Foods, he practiced law in Springfield, Missouri. In his most recent role, he oversaw the acquisition and integration of the Farnam Companies into the Central Life Sciences strategic business unit as well as the completion of several other smaller intellectual property acquisitions.
