Mr. Rick L. Hamilton has been Senior Vice President of Global Software & Services at Ciena Corporation since February 27, 2017. Mr. Hamilton serves as Vice President of Cisco Cloud and Managed Services. He joined Ciena in October 2016 as Senior Vice President of Global Services & Automation. He served as Vice President of Service Delivery at Netsolve, Inc. since January 14, 2004. He served as Corporate Vice President of Professional Services for Juniper Networks from January 2016 to October 2016. He served as Vice President of Cloud & Managed Services with Cisco Systems, where he spent more than ten years in various services leadership positions. He served as Vice President of Cisco's Advanced Services for the Global Enterprise Theatre (GET). He led a global team of around 300 employees in engineering and delivery, program and project management, providing professional and support services to Cisco's global accounts across five industry sectors: automotive, conglomerates, financial services, oil & gas and retail & logistics. In previous Cisco roles, he led a consolidated organisation, providing Advanced and Technical Services across Europe, Middle East, Africa and Russia (EMEAR). In this role, he implemented a new operating model that has been rolled out globally, together with innovative cost control processes that delivered dramatic margin improvements. He also led the Technical Services team in Europe for 3 years, promoting operational excellence and accelerating new services offerings like Smart Services. Before joining Cisco, he served as the Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President of The DFS Group (a division of LVMH Group). He led the Applications and Technology Services team that serviced 135 stores throughout the United States for Cost Plus World Market and he led the applications development team for Discovery Channel's consumer division. He has been a Member of Advisory Board at Brillio since June 2, 2015. Mr. Hamilton holds a Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems from the University of Phoenix and a Master's Degree in Software Engineering from Golden Gate University. A licensed pilot and flight instructor, he holds an Undergraduate Degree in Aeronautics.
