What do you like best about the leadership team?
Very nice and approachable always
The leadership team is working hard to continue to build out the employee experience as they also continue to innovate for its customers.
Direct managers are great, i love our community. But as a company commerce is lacking in a lot of ways. Makes the lower employees resent the company itself.
They do strive to be different from other banks. There is an interest in being the best company they can be, which makes you feel better about being a part of the organization.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
Realistic goal expectations that accurately represent what each team is capable of. This company sets unrealistic expectations which creates a high stress work environment for their employees to never achieve goals.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
Commerce offers a great benefits package that goes beyond just salary. They offer robust wellness, financial, and other benefits
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Paying a livable wage would be nice. Bankers should be making $18+, assistant branch managers should EASILY be making $25 and BMs $30+ an hour. Pay us what we are worth!!! Youre losing employees to other banks because we arent making enough.
What are some of the best things about your team?
My team is amazing. I have a great group that works well together and while we might not always agree, we have open and honest communication that allows us to make improvements.
My direct team is great and super easy to work with, my supervisor is completely disconnected from the rest of the team and impossible to have an honest and realistic conversation with.
What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?
As in many companies, there is a certain "boys club" that does not welcome ideas and collaboration from women. The men are polite and open politically correct. But, there's still an undercurrent of simple humoring the women.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
My personal opinion is the level of care that goes into taking care of its employees through culture and benefits.
What needs to change to make the company culture better?
Too many unrealistic expectations. Have to be "high on the mood elevator", selling products, and exceeding goals at all times to be considered successful with this company. Also ensure that if you feel any ounce of difference of opinions to not express that, you will be singled out.
What did you like most about the interview process?
Everyone was so friendly and made me feel comfortable throughout the whole process
Was able to meet with a variety of different supervisors and managers at several branches.
HR was friendly and welcoming.

What makes you most happy at work?
Having the autonomy to run my part of the business.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
Upper management needs to learn how to take the "accountability" that they constantly preach to their employees to take on. No one is willing to analyze themselves when they see a negative situation. Losing three employees in one branch in 6 weeks shows that something is wrong.
