Executive Bio

Mr. Corey Stone serves as Assistant Director of Credit Information Markets at Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Mr. Stone has extensive experience with electronic payment infrastructures, credit scoring and credit access, and money services businesses. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Pay Rent Build Credit Inc. since September 2006. Mr. Stone served as the Executive Vice President of American Payment Systems, where he was responsible for its rapid growth from 2000 to 2004 and led numerous product development, marketing alliance, and acquisition efforts. When American Payment Systems was acquired by CheckFree Corporation in 2004, Mr. Stone became Vice President of Business Development of CheckFree. Before American Payment Systems, Mr. Stone served as a Consultant and Partner of Easton Consultants for 14 years, where he built and led its practice in utilities and financial services, with clients that included MasterCard, CitiGroup, Wachovia, and IBM. At American Payment Systems and as a Consultant, Mr. Stone has pioneered the development of financial services that meet the needs of underserved consumers. He served as a Director of BillMatrix Corporation. He served as Chairman of the Board of Start Community Bank in New Haven, Connecticut. He was also a Clinical Visiting Lecturer at Yale Law School and a Fellow at the Center for Financial Services Innovation in Chicago. Mr. Stone serves on the Investment Committee of the Center for Financial Services Innovation. Mr. Stone received his BA from Harvard University and his MBA from Yale university.
