Hans G. Nordby — Managing Director of Portfolio Strategy at CoStar Group

Mr. Hans G. Nordby serves as Managing Director of CoStar Portfolio Strategy, LLC. Mr. Nordby has been the Managing Director of CoStar Market Analytics and CoStar Portfolio Strategy (formerly Property & Portfolio Research, Inc.), since September 26, 2011. He served as Director of Advisory Services at Property & Portfolio Research, Inc. He manages the custom strategic research efforts for Property & Portfolio Research's clients. He joined PPR as a Research Strategist in July 2002. In that role, he managed research projects for REITs, opportunity funds, plan sponsors, and commercial banks. Prior to joining PPR, he worked in portfolio management and acquisitions for a pension fund advisor and as a commercial real estate strategy consultant with KPMG Peat Marwick. He is a Member of the National Council of Real Estate Investment Fiduciaries (NCREIF), the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and the Pension Real Estate Association (PREA). He is a frequent Speaker at industry conferences, including those for the Risk Management Association (RMA), the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), the Institute for Fiduciary Education (IFE), and the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT). In addition, he speaks at client-sponsored events for the clients' investors and customers. He is a Prolific Writer and has contributed to the Journal of Portfolio Management, RMA Journal, Real Estate Portfolio, the Journal of Real Estate Portfolio Management, and ICSC Research Quarterly. Media in which he is featured include the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, Investment Dealers Digest, Portfolio (NAREIT's official publication), Time magazine and Fox News, among others. He is a Fellow of the Homer Hoyt Institute. He received a B.A. magna cum laude in Scandinavian Literature from the University of Minnesota and an M.B.A. in Finance from Indiana University.
