Martin Wright — Partner at Covington & Burling LLP

Mr. Martin Wright has been employed at Covington & Burling in the position of Partner since June 2007. Mr. Wright is a partner in Covington's Corporate Group and serves as head of the firm's European Corporate Practice. He has substantial experience in large-scale, cross-border transactions ranging from public and private mergers and acquisitions, including representing buyers and sellers in private equity deals, through to privatizations, significant joint ventures and strategic alliances, as well as corporate advisory matters. Mr. Wright's practice is principally based in Western Europe; however he also has substantial experience advising clients on transactions in Eastern Europe and emerging economies such as India, Thailand, China, Korea and Mauritania. In addition, Mr. Wright has specialist knowledge of the energy and telecoms sectors. Prior to joining Covington & Burling he spent the major part of his twenty-year career with a Magic Circle firm, including over seven years as a partner in its Paris office. He was formerly a mergers and acquisitions partner at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. He has a M.A. and B.A. from King's College, Cambridge.
