Both as a company and as individual Mountaineers, we have a duty to bring about positive change, globally and locally. We work to be good stewards to the environment and partners to our communities. As well, Iron Mountain complies with all environmental laws and regulations, wherever we have operations, identifies opportunities to reduce waste and pollution in our business, and preserves our historical heritage through the Living Legacy Initiative. The Living Legacy Initiative is Iron Mountain’s commitment to preserve and make accessible cultural and historical information and artifacts. We believe we have a responsibility to help protect and share information that is unknown, at-risk or not widely accessible—so that both current and future generations are able to learn and benefit.
Our Moving Mountains volunteer program supports each Mountaineer as they contribute to their local communities. Mountaineers are encouraged to make an impact, support the causes that matter most to them, and report their results.
To support volunteering efforts, Iron Mountain gives all full time employees 16 hours and part time employees 8 hours of annual paid time off to volunteer. The Richard Reese Employee Relief Fund was created after many employees were affected by Hurricane Katrina. Their co-workers and friends noticed the hardships many were experiencing and together brought the Fund to life. It provides temporary financial assistance to our colleagues and their families impacted by a catastrophic event.
