Christian Marrone — Senior VP of External Affairs & Chief of Staff at CSRA Inc

Mr. Christian Marrone has been Chief of Staff at CSRA Inc. since June 25, 2016 and also serves as its Senior Vice President of External Relations. Mr. Marrone served as a Vice President of External Affairs at CSRA Inc. since March 19, 2016. Mr. Marrone served as Vice President of Government Relations at CSRA Inc. until March 19, 2016. Mr. Marrone has almost 20 years of experience in government administration spanning multiple government agencies and the private sector. Mr. Marrone served as the Chief of Staff of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), reporting directly to Secretary Jeh Johnson. Mr. Marrone has also held a number of senior positions within the Department of Defense (DOD), including Special Assistant to then-Secretary Robert Gates and Acting Assistant Secretary of Defense for Legislative Affairs. After leaving the DOD, he served as an executive for 3M, where he helped develop the company's Defense Markets Division and as Vice President for National Security and Acquisition Policy at the Aerospace Industries Association. Mr. Marrone has received several awards throughout his career including the Secretary of Homeland Security Distinguished Public Service Award; the Office of the Secretary of Defense Medal for Exceptional Public Service Award; and he has twice received the Secretary of Defense Medal for Distinguished Public Service. He also received the Young Alumni of the Year Award and the Pennsylvania State University College of Liberal Arts and the Philadelphia Business Journal 40 Under 40 Award. Mr. Marrone holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Pennsylvania State University, a J.D. from Temple University and a Master's degree in Government Administration from the University of Pennsylvania. While attending Pennsylvania State University, he played football under Coach Joseph Paterno and was a member of 1995 Big Ten and Rose Bowl Championship team.
