I have found Chico State to be a great environment for someone who is seeking to improve themselves and willing to take advantage of opportunities. Although the work is not always easy and can be frustrated by bureaucracy and funding restrictions, overall, they do a good job.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
Leadership at the University is positive and constructive if sometimes a little slow moving.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
The benefits are really the winner at this job. The health benefits are excellent. Retirement is also good.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
People matter. There are some things that could be better, but the culture is really one of relationship building in most areas.
What are some of the best things about your team?
There are some great people with great ideas working at the University. I enjoy the diversity and the generosity with ideas of many of my colleagues.
What did you like most about the interview process?
It was all in one interviewing, which isn't always the process in academia. I also liked that we had both professional meetings and a social dinner.
What makes you most happy at work?
I love the students I get to work with on a daily basis. I also like that I have freedom to pursue things I'm interested in improving and we have good professional development opportunities.
