Dr. Albert J. Sterkenburg, D.D.S, has been Senior Vice President of DENTSPLY SIRONA Inc. since January 1, 2009. Dr. Sterkenburg oversees the Global Implant and Prosthetic Franchises with operating responsibilities over both manufacturing locations and sales & marketing organizations located in the United States, Europe and China. Since joining Dentsply, Dr. Sterkenburg's responsibilities have progressively increased from Vice President/General Manager to Group Vice President for the global Prosthetic business. Dr. Sterkenburg served as Vice President and General Manager of the VDW division of Dentsply since 2000, Vice President and General Manager of Degudent division since 2003 and Franchise Vice President of the Global Prosthetics group since 2006. Prior to joining DENTSPLY in January 2000, Dr. Sterkenburg had a successful international career in Marketing and General Management for Ethicon Endo-Surgery, a Johnson & Johnson company and Nellcor, a subsidiary of Tyco Healthcare. He serves on the Board of Directors of Materialise Dental. Dr. Sterkenburg graduated from the University of Groningen with a degree in Dentistry and Business Administration from 1984 to 1990.
