We recommend setting the Safe Saving Level to at least $100. Setting Safe Saving Level any lower may not be as effective in providing a safe buffer, since Digit receives your updated bank balance at different times.

View ArticleWelcome to effortless financial health! Here are just some of the features your new Digit account has to offer, along with how we'll help achieve your financial goals together.
Potential Yearly Savings
How much and when Digit saves is based on the information it receives from your bank. More details on what Digit reads to determine savings can be found here.
The potential yearly savings that Digit tells you when getting started is based on the checking balance your bank sends us when you first link your bank account to Digit.
Where Are My Digit Savings (Money) Held?
Safe Saving Level
Digit will save for you as long your checking account is above the amount you set. Learn more.
We usually recommend setting this to at least $100. Lower amounts (i.e. $10) are generally not effective as your checking balance can fluctuate quickly as you spend, and charges to your checking account may not post right away.
Overdraft Prevention
Keep your bank account balance comfortable by using your savings when it might get a bit low. When you set up Overdraft Prevention, Digit will move money back to your checking account when it goes below the amount you set. Learn more here.
#Goals
What do you need to save for? What do you want to save for? Whether it's for car repairs or a dream vacation, Digit can help you safely set aside funds! Head here to learn about how goals work and to get started.
Bills, Bills, Bills
Digit can also help chip away at expenses by sending your savings directly to your billers. You can create goals for your student loan debt, credit card debt, and monthly phone bill, and Digit will save towards them and send those funds to your biller directly.

What is the phone bill goal?
In addition to saving for a Rainy Day, your personal goals, and credit card or student loan debt, Digit can now save towards and directly pay your monthly phone bill!
Head here
After creating a goal for your phone bill, Digit will connect with your mobile carrier and start saving, with the intention of reaching your bill's total amount every month.
If the entire amount has been saved, it will be sent directly to your service provider to pay your bill.
If Digit didn't find safe opportunities to save the whole amount, anything saved in your goal will be automatically sent to your biller, and Digit will send a text reminder that the remainder of your bill is due.
Setting up
The first step in setting up your phone bill goal is verifying your identity with our banking partner who will be handling payments by entering in some background info, such as your birthdate, social security number and address. If you're already using either the student loan or credit card debt goals, you won't need to complete this step again, since you're already verified in our banking partner's system.
Next, you'll supply the info we need to get connected with your wireless carrier account for payments. if you're not sure how to locate your account number.
Once you confirm (click "I Understand"), your goal is now fully set up! Digit will start to look for opportunities to save for your bill and will send payment directly to your biller ahead of the due date. If your due date is less than 15 days from the date your goal is created, Digit will start to save for the next month's bill after your upcoming due date passes.
View ArticleYes you can!
You can set a Maximum Daily Save limit per individual goal that you have set up. This will keep Digit from saving more than the amount you specify for that particular goal in each day's savings calculation.
To set up a Maximum Daily Save limit:
1) Open the app
2) Tap into the goal you'd like to set a limit for. This can be a personal goal you've set up, or your student loan or credit card goals that Digit sends payments from.
3) Tap 'Settings' in the upper-righthand corner of your goal screen
4) Select "Maximum Daily Save Amount"
5) Enter the amount you do not want Digit to save above for that particular goal and tap "Save"
To remove your currently set Maximum Daily Save amount:
Repeat steps 1 through 4, you will see an option to now turn this amount off.
View ArticleIf you're seeing an unusually high debit from Digit.co in your checking activity and have recently set up a connection to pay off debt with your Digit goals, you are more than likely seeing the anti-money laundering transfer process.
When your debt goal is first connected to your biller, our banking partner first requires your entire goal balance to be returned to checking, and then debited again, as a means of preventing money-laundering but still keeping up your savings momentum, since funds are going to be moved to somewhere other than your checking account and Digit account.
After this process is completed, Digit is cleared to start sending payments from your goal!

If this is happening, there may be an issue with the connection between your checking account and our data provider. Please Pause saving (so Digit isn't saving off of an incorrect balance), and reach out to us so we can investigate and let our data provider know!
When will I see an updated balance again?
Unfortunately, we can't give a specific time frame on when the balance may update again. You should see your checking balance update and be reported correctly once our data provider fixes the issue with the connection.
The balance is slow to update (but does update eventually)
The only fix is time. Our data provider reads your checking info and sends it to us at different times, and doesn't update in realtime like your banking app does. Depending on your bank, this could be twice a day, or even every two to three days.
Digit cannot manually go in and update your checking balance to be up-to-date, unfortunately. However, there are several features you can set up to ensure that Digit is still saving for you comfortably even if the checking balance we're receiving is not fresh:
Overdraft Prevention
Safe Saving Level
Max Daily Save
To see when our data provider is grabbing that info from your checking account and sending it to us, you can click on the card that displays your checking account info in the Digit app:

The balance is correct but is the balance for a different bank account (i.e. your savings or business account - not the one you would like connected to save from)

Any special names/nicknames that your checking account may have (Bill's checking, Everyday checking, etc.)
View ArticleThe Boost feature allows you to prioritize goals so that more funds are added to them when Digit saves.
For example, if you had 3 active goals and Digit thought it could safely save $6 that day, each goal would get $2 allocated towards it. However, if you boosted one of those goals, you may see that the two non-boosted goals might get $1.50 each, and the boosted goal would get $3 added to it. It's still the same amount saved on a given day, with your selected goals getting priority.
If you have an end date set on your goal, you won't be able to Boost it, since the rate it's saving is already being controlled by that date.
To enable Boost:
1) Open the app and tap into the goal you'd like to boost
2) In your goal, tap Settings to bring up a menu. Then, choose Boost.
You'll see a lightening bold next to all of the goals that you have Boosted.
To disable Boost:
Repeat steps 1 & 2 above, then tap "Turn Boost Off"

If the phone line isn't working (or if your checking account isn't picking up the phone), Digit isn't able to get in touch to save.
If you just got started and you received an error when trying to link your checking account with Digit, give it some time and try again later. Fortunately, a lot of the problems that cause trouble with linking up fix themselves in time.

View ArticleIf Digit is reporting that your transfer either into or out of Digit is currently pending, that is because the funds are in the process of being completely settled with your bank.
While the fundsare in the pending state, they cannot be accessed or adjusted.
Please note, when manually adding funds to your Digit account, these funds can take up to 3 business days to fully reconcile from your bank before they become available for withdrawal again.
A pending savings transfer into Digit unfortunately can not be altered until the funds have cleared completely and become available for withdrawal.
View ArticleAfter you close your account with Digit, any remaining funds will be automatically transferred back to your checking account electronically unless your checking account is closed. Electronic transfers will arrive next business day.
If you have pending saves when you close those will be returned also as soon as the saves move from pending to posted. If you close your account on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, you may see debits from Digit the following Monday, since saves are debited a business day after they are created and queued up.
We will confirm this information during the cancellation process and send you a follow-up confirmation email as well.
In extremely rare cases, banking transfers can be returned by your bank for up to 90 days after initiated (for example if your checking account were frozen by your bank and they were unable to accept the transfer we sent them).
In the event that we need to contact you in order to ensure that allremaining funds are returned, we do not archive your account contact information completely for approximately 90 days after you've closed your account in case we need to reach out to you to help get your funds to you.
In the meantime, the connection with your bank has been severed and no further savings transfers will be pulled from your account.

View ArticleSaving with Digit rewards you with a 1\% annual Savings Bonus, paid every 3 months. Your bonus amount is calculated from the average daily balance in your Digit account over the previous 3 months including Rainy Day savings and money accrued toward goals or bills.
Because the Savings Bonus is 1\% annually, paid out quarterly, the amount you receive each time is 0.25\%. For example, if your average daily balance over the past 3 months was $4,000 then your Savings Bonus for that period will be: $4,000 x (1\% 4) = $10.
To check on your next bonus, just open the Digit app. Then, scroll down to the Rewards section to see a countdown of when your next bonus will be paid out.

Please note that a personal checking account with a bank is required to use Digit at this time, so even if you are able to find your service in our data provider's list, Digit may still not be able to connect if it is not a supported account. Some examples of services we aren't able to support are PayPal, Green Dot, and NetSpend.
