  • Modern open office looks nice fosters collaboration. It can be very noisy and there is a lack of privacy with lots of visual diatractions. I don't like it but some people do. Good camaraderie among co-workers. Excellent variety of free coffee and water.

  • Depends on manager. Some expect you to be available 24/7/365. You need to have the courage to push back if you think the demands are unreasonable. Unfortunately some departments have many Type A workaholics who always put work before family.
