Executive Bio

Mr. Curtis E. Espeland, also known as Curt, has been the Chief Financial Officer of Eastman Chemical Co., since September 1, 2008 and has been its Executive Vice President since January 2014. Mr. Espeland joined Eastman in 1996 and has held a number of positions of increasing responsibility within Eastman's corporate and finance organization. Mr. Espeland served as the Chief Accounting Officer at Eastman Chemical Co. from May 2005 to August 2008 and previously held same position since December 2002. He also served as the Vice President of Eastman Chemical Co. since December 2002 and served as its Vice President of Finance from May 2005 to August 2008. Mr. Espeland joined Eastman in 1996. At Eastman, Mr. Espeland served as a Director of Internal, Director of Corporate Planning and Forecasting and Director of Financial Services for Asia Pacific, was named Assistant Controller of Eastman Chemical Co. and Controller of Eastman Division in 2002. He also served as Vice President of Finance at Polymers Business Group; Vice President of Finance for Eastman Division; and Corporate Vice President and Controller of Eastman. Mr. Espeland has also led Eastman's corporate planning, forecasting and internal audit functions. Prior to Eastman, he was an Audit and Business Advisory Manager with Arthur Andersen LLP. in the United States, Europe and Australia. He has been an Independent Director of Lincoln Electric Holdings Inc. since February 23, 2012. Mr. Espeland is a certified public accountant. Mr. Espeland holds a BBA in Accounting with distinction from Iowa State University in 1986. He holds an MBA with honors from the University of Chicago in 2002. He completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School in 2008.
