Gary Anderson — Independent Director at Eastman Chemical Company

Mr. Gary E. Anderson served as the President of the Midland Community Center Board of Trustees. Mr. Anderson served as the President of Dow Corning Corp., since 1994 and as the Chief Executive Officer since August 1999. Mr. Anderson began his Dow Corning Corporation career in 1967 in the Products Development- Fluids area and also served as a Building Superintendent in the Resins and Chemical Manufacturing area in 1969. Mr. Anderson served as a Project Engineer in Process Engineering in 1973 and a Project Engineer Supervisor in the Resins and Chemicals area in 1974. Mr. Anderson also served as an Evaluator and Controller of Fluids and Lubricants in 1976 and also served as a Manager of Economic Evaluation and Business Control in 1977. Mr. Anderson also served as a Director of Manufacturing and Engineering in Europe since 1979 and also served as an European Area Vice President since 1980. Mr. Anderson served as an acting Deputy Assistant Secretary at Basic Industries in the Department of Commerce from 1983 to 1984. Since 1984, Mr. Anderson served as a General Manager of Fluids, Resins and Process Industries. He also served as a Vice President of Dow Corning since 1986 and also served as a Group Vice President of Businesses since 1989. Since 1993, Mr. Anderson served as an Executive Vice President of Dow Corning. He also served as the President of Michigan Tech Fund. He served as the Chairman of Dow Corning Corporation until January 2006. He served as a Director of Chemical Financial Corp. since January 17, 2005 until April 26, 2017. He served as an Independent Director of Chemical Bank & Trust Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Chemical Financial Corporation since January 2001 until April 2015. He has been an Independent Director at Eastman Chemical Co. since August, 2007 and served as its Lead Director from January 1, 2011 to May 2, 2013. He served as a Lead Independent Director of Chemical Financial Corporation from April 2006 to April 2011. Mr. Anderson served as a Member of the MTU President's Advisory Board and Board of Trustees of the Michigan Tech Fund. He also served as a Director of Dow Corning Corporation. Mr. Anderson served on the Community Bank Board of Directors of Chemical Bank & Trust Company - Bay City from 1991 to December 2000. He served as a Vice Chair of the MTU Leaders at Innovation capital campaign and was instrumental in securing funding for the Dow Environmental Sciences and Engineering Building at the University. Mr. Anderson is involved at the local Rotary Club and Junior Achievement. He is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. In May 2003, Mr. Anderson was awarded an honorary Doctor of Engineering degree in recognition of his accomplishments and service to MTU. Mr. Anderson holds a Bachelor of Arts in Chemical Engineering from Michigan Technological University (MTU) in 1967 and an MBA in Finance from Central Michigan University in 1973.
