Working as an intern, I have managed to learn on the job and accomplish many tasks interdisciplinary with my manager. Though I am Technical Marketing Intern, I am also being trained to understand Optical Engineering, Sales, Finance, and Legal Management in addition to providing technical content.

They are fairly hands off and trust me to work at my own pace.

PTO and health insurance are the best benefits. Compensation can be good if you know your value and push to ensure you get your value.

Everyone can share and contribute their work, and upper management is receptive to these inputs. Everyone wants to succeed, and will take time to hear most ideas. A lot of flexibility overall.

Coworkers could all unite in a common vision of the future. Everyone kind of does their own thing, in their own silo, acheiving their own KPI's. Not much organizational vision.

The culture and people are very friendly and laid back, and want to collaborate with me as an intern. I really like the breadth and scope of what projects we are able to get involved with, and feel many companies in a similar environment do not have this same opportunity.

A common unified vision for the next 2-5 years.

Job security, not a lot of firing or layoffs.

Expansions into life sciences unit and opportunity to showcase my skillset in a non-traditional background of this industry. Reiterative improvement focused on the customer and employee skillsets.
