Dr. Michael V. Chobotov, Ph.D., has been the Chief Technology Officer of Endologix Inc. since February 3, 2016. Dr. Chobotov founded TriVascular Technologies, Inc. (formerly TriVascular) in 1998 and served as its Chief Technology Officer from April 12, 2012 to February 2016. Dr. Chobotov was a Venture Partner of Kearny Venture Partners. Dr. Chobotov served as President and Chief Executive Officer at TriVascular, Inc. Dr. Chobotov led TriVascular from its product and corporate conception through its private, venture and corporate financings and through its recent strategic partnership and acquisition by Boston Scientific. Prior to co-founding TriVascular in 1998, he co-founded TransMotive Technologies. Dr. Chobotov joined Hughes Aircraft Company as a Systems Engineer for the development of a new spacecraft product line, HS-601, which became one of the most successful in the industry. He was Senior Systems Engineer at Hughes Space and Communications. As a Systems Engineer, he integrated a variety of technologies into products, developed and patented technical solutions to challenging problems, received technical awards and authored technical publications. Dr. Chobotov left Hughes to lead the design of the Lunar Prospector spacecraft, which his firm subsequently licensed to Lockheed Martin to build as the first NASA Discovery mission and launch in early 1998. Dr. Chobotov later became the Senior Vice President of Research and Development and a Board Member at U.S.E. He serves as a Director of TV2 Holding Company and TriVascular, Inc. He served as a Director of TriVascular Technologies, Inc. until April 2014. He holds a Ph.D., M.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering and B.S. in Engineering and Applied Science from the California Institute of Technology.
