It is a culture. It is very difficult to change.

Managers only care about themselves.
Unless we start acting like Sony, Philips, Boeing, Raytheon, Google, Apple, Amazon, it is going to be very difficult to make any improvements. Likely house cleaning and change in most upper managment will be required to bring in new people who are more aware of the business and customers.
