Dr. Kenneth M. Woolley, also known as Ken, Ph.D. co-founded Gaia Real Estate Holdings, LLC in 2009 and serves as its Managing Partner. Dr. Woolley serves as the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of K-Tec Inc. He serves as a Member of Dynamic International Airways LLC. Dr. Woolley has been involved in all aspects of the self-storage industry since 1977. He was employed at TransAxis, Inc. Dr. Woolley served as the Chief Investment Officer of Extra Space Storage Inc. from July 1, 2012 to July 2013. He founded Extra Space Storage Inc. (EXR) in 1977 and served as its Chief Executive Officer until April 1, 2009 and served as its man from 1977 to April 1, 2009. Dr. Woolley directed all strategic planning and oversaw the development and acquisition activities for Extra Space Storage Inc. He was responsible for developing over 160 properties and acquiring over 600 self-storage properties throughout the United States. Dr. Woolley served as the Senior Vice President of East Coast Development at Extra Space Storage Inc. and also served as the Chief Executive Officer of Extra Space Storage Inc.'s predecessor. He founded Richmond Foods plc in 1990. From 1982 to 1983, Dr. Woolley served as an In-house Acquisition Broker at Public Storage, Inc. From 1983 to 1989, he served as a Preferred Developer for Public Storage, Inc. and developed 22 storage properties. Dr. Woolley also developed more than 7,000 apartment units and founded several companies in the retail, electronics, food manufacturing and natural resources industries. Early in his career, he served as a Management Consultant at Boston Consulting Group. Dr. Woolley serves as the Chairman at WestCorp Management Group, LLC. He has been an Executive Chairman of Extra Space Storage Inc. since July 1, 2012. He has been Director of Extra Space Storage Inc since August 2004. Dr. Woolley has been an Independent Trustee of American Homes 4 Rent and American Homes 4 Rent, LLC since November 2012. He served as a Non-Executive Director of Richmond Foods Limited. Dr. Woolley served as Chairman of the Board at Maxjet Airways, Inc. since April 2007. He served as a Director of Richmond Ice Cream Company Limited since 1985. From 1994 to 2002, Dr. Woolley was an active participant on Storage USA Advisory Board. He served as the Chairman of Nevada West Development and WestCorp Management Group at EXR. From 1978 to 1998, he was an Associate Professor and later an Adjunct Associate Professor of Business Administration at Brigham Young University where he taught undergraduate and an MBA classes in Corporate Strategy and Real Estate. Dr. Woolley holds an MBA and Ph.D. in Business Administration from Stanford University Graduate School of Business and a BA in Physics from Brigham Young University.
