    Sometimes off the wall. A good portion of the interviewers are not related to the subject matter and they do not ask the questions that weed out the incompetent. I have seen interviewers go with gut feelings instead of making sure the candidate is qualified.

  • Engineering and Contracting are having difficulties with attrition in some agencies. Agencies are competing with each other for experienced and trained federal employees. Pay and position descriptions are not the same for GS levels in different agencies.
