Connie L. Ellerbach — Partner at Fenwick & West

Ms. Connie L. Ellerbach is a Partner in the Intellectual Property Group of Fenwick & West LLP. Ms. Ellerbach's practice focuses on domestic and international trademark and trade name counseling, including the development and management of domestic and international trademark portfolios, resolving conflicts over disputed marks, and establishing and enforcing rights in trademarks used either exclusively or primarily on the Internet. Her practice includes advising clients on the selection, enhancement and enforcement of trademarks and brands, prosecuting and maintaining United States and foreign trademark registrations, and resolving rights to disputed marks by negotiating licenses, assignments, coexistence agreements, settlement agreements and transfer agreements, including the acquisition and transfer of domain names. She advises clients who provide access to portal services and content on the Internet. She is a member of the American Bar Association Section on Patent, Trademark and Copyright Law, the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the California Bar Association Section on Intellectual Property, and is active in the International Trademark Association and South Bay Trademark Association. Ms. Ellerbach served on the Domain Name Subcommittee of the International Trademark Association's Internet Committee which is working to formulate policy regarding the registration of internet domain names and protection of trademark used on the Internet. Ms. Ellerbach received her law degree from the University of Virginia Law School in 1990, where she served for two years as Articles Editor of the Virginia Journal of International Law.
