He was a Partner/Principal at Ernst & Young. In this role, he worked with Chief Information Security Officers, Chief Information Officers and Directors to help improve its information security programs. His focus there was on strategic information security planning, organization design, incident response and targeted threats. Before Ernst & Young, he served as Chief Information Security Officer at General Electric, overseeing a broad global information security organization. He also served as Divisional Chief Technology Officer at General Electric, where he held a variety of positions in application security, web development and infrastructure management. He has been a Director of Netgear Inc. since January 15, 2016. Mr. Summers holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Systems and Political Science degree from Grove City College in Pennsylvania.
