Mr. Georges J. Antoun has been the Chief Commercial Officer of First Solar, Inc. since July 1, 2016. Mr. Antoun has over 20 years of operational and technical experience, including leadership positions at several global technology companies. Mr. Antoun served as President of U.S. at First Solar, Inc. since July 1, 2015 until July 1, 2016 and served as its Chief Operating Officer since July 2012. He had responsibility for manufacturing, R&D, quality and product management. He was a Venture Partner at Technology Crossover Ventures. He served as the Head of Product Area Intellectual Property & Broadband Networks (PAIB) for Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (publ). He joined Ericsson when Ericsson acquired Redback Networks and served as the Senior Vice President of Worldwide Field Operations and Product Management at Redback Networks Inc., from July 2003 to February 2008 and its Chief Executive Officer since February 2008 also Senior Vice President of Engineering Product Management & Marketing from January 2003 to July 2003. Mr. Antoun served as the Head of Sales and Marketing at Redback Networks. He also served as Redback Networks Inc.'s Senior Vice President of Engineering, Product Management and Marketing since January 2003 and was responsible for corporate marketing, product management and product marketing, as well as strategy, business development and engineering from January 2003 to July 2003 and as a Senior Vice President of Marketing and Business Development from August 2001 to January 2003. Before joining Redback in August 2001, he spent the preceding five years, from July 1996 to August 2001, at Cisco Systems, Inc. where he served as a Vice President of Worldwide Systems Engineering and Field Marketing, a Vice President of Worldwide Optical Operations and Vice President of Carrier Sales. He was instrumental in the successful strategy behind Cisco's entry into the service provider and optical markets. He has also held senior management positions at Newbridge Networks and Nynex (now Verizon Communications), where he was part of their Science and Technology Division. He was employed at Ericsson (ERIC). He serves as a Director at Byogy Renewables, Inc. He has been a Director of Violin Memory, Inc., since June 6, 2014. He served as a Director of Ruckus Wireless, Inc. from February 27, 2012 to May 27, 2016. Mr. Antoun holds a B.S. degree in Engineering from the University of Louisiana, an M.S. in Information Systems from NYU Poly and an Executive Management degree from the Ericsson program at Columbia University.
