Executive Bio

Mr. Stephen M. Abbott, also known as Steve, has been an Executive Vice President of Sales at Forsythe Technology, Inc. since April 2011. Mr. Abbott serves as Advisor to the Board of Ionic Security Inc. Mr. Abbott served as the Chief Executive Officer at Ionic Security Inc. Mr. Abbott served as the Senior Vice President of Security Solutions at Forsythe Solutions Group, Inc. since May 2009. Mr. Abbott has more than 20 years of experience in the IT security industry. Before joining Forsythe, he co-founded PGP Corporation in 2002 and served as its Vice President of Worldwide Enterprise Sales. He also served as Vice President of Emerging Markets, Vice President of Worldwide Corporate and Channel Sales and Vice President of Worldwide Sales at PGP Corporation. He served as Vice President of channel sales at Vantive. Mr. Abbott also worked closely with PGP's product management and engineering groups to help architect product solutions which helped data encryption become a mainstream security application. He helped clients to identify security risks and reduce liabilities associated with messaging, mobile media and network file encryption. He was also responsible for measuring customer satisfaction, designing success programs, assessing service structures and serving as the customer advocate. Mr. Abbott's previous experience includes executive management and customer-facing positions at a variety of IT security industry innovators. As vice president of sales and then Chief Executive Officer of PortAuthority Technologies (now Websense), he was responsible for working with early adopters to establish ways for sensitive data to be monitored and controlled. He established the product architecture, product strategy and the roadmap, launching new products to the marketplace. He crafted Forsythe Solutions's worldwide sales and channel strategy and built its professional services. He began his career as a sales representative at Internet security-provider Symantec. He served as a Director of Ionic Security, Inc. He served as a Director of OEM & International Sales at PGP Inc., where he executed key customer and technology alliances. Prior to PGP Corporation, Mr. Abbott held positions as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales at Vidius Inc. and at FFWD in Silicon Valley. He also held various sales positions at Symantec Corporation, both in the United States and in the United Kingdom. Mr. Abbott has A Level physics and mathematics from Yuet Wah College in Hong Kong.
