Mr. Manuel Ruiz-conejo Carlos, B.Sc. (Engineering), has been Vice President of Operations at Fortuna Silver Mines Inc. (formerly Fortuna Ventures Inc.) since August 1, 2011. Mr. Carlos is a mining engineer with more than 25 years of experience. Amongst his different areas of expertise, he has vast experience in community relations. He is an accomplished mining executive with a successful career in some of the leading mining companies in Peru. He has worked for the most prolific polymetallic mines and mine contractors in Peru. Mr. Carlos served as Chief Executive Officer for the largest Peruvian mining contracting company. As an engineer, he participated in the implementation and execution of critical projects for over ten years of mining companies. He served as a Vice President of Project Development at Fortuna Silver Mines Inc. from July 2009 to August 2011 and served as its Vice President of Business Development from February 2008 to July 2009. He was responsible for leading Fortuna Silver's growth strategy throughout Latin America. In 2005, he became Chief Operating Manager of Minera Atacocha. Mr. Carlos has a B.Sc. in Mining Engineering from the Universidad Nacional de Ingenieria in Peru, an MBA from ESAN, a Tier 1 Latin American Business School and an M.Sc. in Accounting and Finance from The London School of Economics. He also holds an Executive Management Program from the Universidad de Piura in Peru.
